5,971 miles. Happy Turkey Day. The 180SXxy has been running cherry. Just got back from a private drift event at Camarillo Airport (11/16). Pics are here, covered by my baby SileightyMania. This was one of my first drift events and boy did I have fun ;). I went on the Skid Pad a few times, trying to do doughnuts (or as we say 'Krispy Kremes') with my one-legger (no-LSD) diff.
The concrete was really messed up and slippery, so I was able to break it loose just by tapping my brakes. Very Very Fun! I ran the cone drift course about 10 times hahaha. Spinning out my car numerous times was very entertaining. I was breaking my car loose again, with only my brakes. So I learned braking drift there and had soooo much fun killing my tires!!! A few days before the event I changed my oil at Cartune.
My muffler system needed tightening too, omg. I really don't like 2-piece muffler systems, the screws are tightened all the way and I'm still leaking air. WTF. I miss my Apex, this 5Zigen one sounds really cute, but isn't that air tight. Also, the whole month of October I was driving around and heard clanking noises everytime I'd hit a bump on the front driver-side. We finally figured it out and that big bolt on the upper piloball mount was soo loose. OMG imagine if that had popped off? Pretty scary stuff. Anyways, all of December I will be on my Christmas Break. What I plan to do with the 180SXxy? Install my Viscous LSD (yes, finally), change my oil again, install my Greddy Downpipe, and install my dummy cat.
Yes, I've had my LSD sitting around since June, but my baby wanted me to learn how to appreciate it before install it. I plan to have my viscous on for a while and see how I like it and how good it will do me at the next few drift events. Ben baby says viscous & clutch-type are like night & day (clutch-type being better). So, if I get really good (which I hope) then I plan to get a KAAZ 2-way LSD. Anyone want to sponsor a girl drifter? Sheeeez.
I got laid off a few weeks ago, but I've found a few new jobs, so again I'm working, but not getting paid enough! In January there's a drift event, I'll be at that one, hopefully testing out my viscous LSD. Hope you all had a fun Turkey Day, wish me luck!!

What a long way the 180SXxy has come. I didn't realize so much has happened in the course of just one year! For those of you who continuously read up here, thank you! I'm looking forward to another great year of 180SXxy Racing & Tuning at its Best. In the coming months I plan to practice drifting, circut racing, and autoXing more than ever. I plan to focus a lil' more on the interior and do some final mods on my engine. Ultimately, after the final engine mods I want to leave the engine alone and just race race race and show show show and enjoy the 180SXxyCarLyfe. See you soon!!!

3,834 miles. I missed the track event on the 31st. Silly ol' me. Benson Love wasn't ready and I was having an emotional break-down about some drama with my family & my baby's daddy, yes you don't want to know. I did end up going to Cartune and getting my oil changed, Tension rods installed, muffler installed, and they were finishing my a/c system. I just need to put one more hose on the system and get a refill and I'm good to go. The 180SXxy is better now with the muffler. I still have my cat on, but I do feel the turbo spool much faster. I didn't get the Greddy downpipe in time, but a buddy finally came through with one for me. So hopefully I can put it on later this month. There was a lil' SoCal240SX meet in Long Beach on the 7th. I had fun, 45 people showed up, 35 240SX's, a few hachirokus, and a few G20's. I'm glad other cars like the G20's came to meet up. Meets aren't just for 240S! Anyways...I've been driving on the downlow these past few weeks, my tags are expired! No tickets yet, knock on wood. No I haven't gotten a smog yet. I'm going Saturday to smog my SR at a friend's Test-Only place. Wish me luck! As soon as I balance my checkbook I'm going to go pick up my Koyo that has been crying out my name for the entire month. Me & Benson just came back from Vacation so we haven't been looking into the oil coolers much. I need to get on that. I start school tomorrow though, so I'm going to be busy busy. I was thinking of getting a quick-release adaptor for my steering wheel so I can take my steering wheel to class with me. Hmmmm...wish me luck finding someone who has one in stock. My bday is coming up! October 28th baby! Yes, I would like a Front Mount Intercooler, preferably Blitz LM. Maybe I should tell my friends that. Hahhaaa. My plans for this month is to get the radiator on, finish my a/c, put the Greddy Downpipe on, and buy the oil cooler/oil filter relocation set. :). Next time I write I hope my lazy butt is done with all of that! I'm also working on my new bbs, its going to be bigger, better, and cuter. Watch out for that soon. Take care, happy ricing.
August 26, 2002
3,333 miles. The Willow Springs track event is this Saturday! ;). I'm almost ready hahahaa. Tomorrow I have an appointment at Cartune to put on my muffler, my new tie rod ends, my Tein tension rods, hopefully my Greddy Downpipe, and change my oil. I'm so glad I'm going to get this out of the way! Also in the morning I'm going to pick up my rims from Alta that were being repaired. Hopefully at this track event I can speed up my runs and perfect my racing line. In the last few weeks since the convention my car has been running cherry as usual. At the track event my car is going to be featured for the Official Convention Video, so I'm picking out my theme music and writing my script of mods hahhaaa. I've realized I've done so much to my car I tend to forget what I've done. Can't wait for the track event ;). My Koyo radiator is in, I just have to go pick it up next week. Things are going good. Hopefully in a few weeks me & Ben can go pick up our Earl's oil coolers & oil filter relocation kits and have them make our stainless steel brake lines for our Z brakes. Finally my brakes are going to be worthy hahaha. I also need to go to the dealer and pick up a new master brake cylinder, OMG mines leaking and I barely changed it like a year ago. I'm asking around for a Skyline fuel pump or a 300ZX fuel pump and no one has it :(. I wish I could tell how much longer my fuel pump is going to last. It's been a lot louder lately and I don't know why. I just want to be safe and get a new one already. Well I'm going to get some sleep, I've gotta rest up. See you at the track :).
August 8, 2002
2,735 miles. So my 3 piece rim seal is bad again and I have to pump my tire everyday. Also, I have a boost leak somewhere...when I turn on my car the rpm drops and almost dies, then goes to an idle that is lower than usual. Weird. Can't find the boost leak!!! I noticed it the day after the track event. And hahah when I'm on the freeway I hear a humming noise coming from the passenger front wheel...that is the wheel that is leaking, so we'll see if it stops when I get it fixed...could be a bearing. Drama, just little drama hhhaaa. Well other than those stupid little things, the 180SXxy has been great. Even though I supposedly have a boost leak she still is strong. I haven't been having that weird boost problem that I had on the 1st day of the convention, thank goodness. I just signed up for the Speedtrial Track event at Willow Springs on the 31st of this month. I finally got my rev-matching down on all gears, so now I can start applying to brake and finally heel-toe! Before the track event I have to do the following: take off my cat & get a test pipe, put on my new 5Zigen Rocket muffler, find a Greddy Downpipe (or settle for a Blitz), put spacers in my hood to angle my hood up a lil', and check my brakes. I changed my master brake cylinder a year or so ago and I've noticed it leaking under the reservoir and I think its getting air into my brake system, but not a lot, a new one is going on my shopping list. My shopping list for the remainder of this year is as follows:
Nissan Master Brake Cylinder, Blitz LM FMIC, Skyline Fuelpump, steel braided brake lines, new rims to clear the Z brakes that I just bought (17x8 & 17x9), possibly a 5-lug conversion if I can't find decent 4-lug rims, Kouki bumper, new nissan rear bumper, oil cooler & oil filter relocation kit, and a S14 turbo ;). Just a few things huh hahahhaa. After that, I'll start working on my interior and get the rear seats done to match my JIC Seats that still haven't come in yet! I go to school full-time, rent a house, take care of a 1st grader and only work part-time, money doesn't come easy for me, but I guess that's why I'm accounting major, I can make the very few dollars I get stretch. I got sucked into the 240SX hole and can't get out, I'm having the time of my life hhahaa ;). My best friend's GSR was stolen in the valley a few days ago, I'm so upset about that. Fucking dicklesswonder car jackers, Bachi Bachi, ever hear of bad kharma mother-bitches! They'll get theirs. Excuse my mouth, but I am very upset about that. It really sucks! It seems like you can't have something nice without someone else wanting it, and it always happens to the undeserving people like my best friend, I'm sorry Barb sweety. The world is full of bad boys & girls and it makes me worry, but the show must go on . . .there is always lojack!
July 29, 2002
2,326 miles. I'm home from the convention! I had a blast. I've never seen so many 240'S come together! On my way to Speedzone on Friday, as I was rushing and flooring it every chance I could get, I suddenly lost power and my car would only rev up to 2000, boost leak??? It happened a block from Speedzone, so I putt putted to the convention and quickly hid in the parking lot away from the crowd and we popped my hood. There were NO boost leaks, I didn't know wtf was going on and I started worrying. I started the car again and then it was okay! Very weird. Now, it does that every so often for a split second or two and then its fine. It sounds like an electrical problem, maybe the wires on my MAF or the wires under my coolant reservoir, I've got to check that out. Anyways...I really enjoyed the Convention, I checked all the registrants in on Friday & Saturday and met tons of new 240 people, that was cool. I met some of the girls that went to the convention, hopefully I can become good friends with some of them. They all were pretty nice, but I think only one out of the 5 there was really truly into her car, hahahaa. On Saturday I worked the check-in table pretty much all day. Me & Benson spent $130 on raffle tickets and we won!!!!! We won a 5Zigen "Rocket" muffler system, a Nismo G-Shock watch, a Nismo Key, and I won a Meguiar's car care kit for winning Best Girl Car! If you voted for me, Thank you!! Benson has the watch and I have the rest of the prizes hahahaha, I'm a pig oink oink. I think I'm going to put on the rocket exhaust for only meets & track events. On Sunday, for the track event it was around 100 degrees! I was so concerned that my car would overheat on the track, but she was fine!!!! I got in two twenty minute runs, each I was continuously at 6000 rpm and my temp didn't even budge. The 180SXxy & I loved the track. My tires & brakes couldn't be nicer to me! I had very minimal understeer and brake fade, thank you!!! I guess I should have been more confident in her, she pulled through so well. This was the first time I had been at Willow Springs on a dry day. Last time it was pouring rain, so this was actually the first time I really pushed it on this track. I didn't hold up too many cars, and I did a few passes. I had BensonLove in the car giving me pointers on my racing line and braking, thank you!! Each lap I got better and better, and it also got hotter and hotter. I didn't want to wear my shoes, so I was racing with just my socks on hahahahah! I hate driving stick with shoes. After my second run at around 2pm I said that's it, no more. I didn't want to push my baby anymore, and I had good luck on the track and I didn't want to ruin it. I was satisfied with my runs and I can't wait for the next track event and I certainly can't wait for the next convention! Hopefully we can do this convention every year in SoCal. Now that the convention is over I can finally focus on saving money for my Blitz LM front mount and I really want a new front bumper! Write you soon ;).
July 25, 2002
2,000 miles on the SRSXxy. It has been drama for the past 10 days. My turbo came loose where it bolts to the exhaust manifold. It turned out that the metal gasket got so hot it melted 1/2 of it off!!! Luckily Mike my buddy at Puente Hills Nissan has S15 metal gaskets for the exhaust manifold and S13 SR metal gaskets for the turbo. Thank goodness Benson Love has gone through this drama with his car, so he knew what to do! Thank you baby! We changed the oil tonight, we used Valvoline Synthetic 15W-50 oil. I just fixed my brakes, they weren't working when I was boosting, but I found out that it was a case of a bad check valve. Benson gave me his S14 seats for the meanwhile until my JIC/Cross ones come come. They are sooo nice. I went to Alta today and of course my E-Wing mesh are leaking again! Three piece rims suck, the seal always goes bad. Pretty much everytime I change my tires the seal on at least one of the rims goes bad. I guess that's the price I have to pay if I want cute rims. I was looking at some Volk's, but I think I should kick back for a while and focus on more important things. Anyways, the new Dunlop FM901's are on the fronts now and my W-10's are on the rear, and my other 2 worn out W-10's are in the garage waiting for Benson to drift on them or something hahhaaa. I got some sweet stickers made especially for the convention..."Girls Love Cars (with a big heart in the middle") and of course a Nadine180.com sticker. Gotta have that! Well the 180SXxy is washed, vac'd, waxed, and ready to go for the convention!! Wish me luck!
July 15, 2002
1,569 miles on the SRsxxy. For the most part, she's still strong as ever and running great. The rev matching is going much better, I can do 5-4 & 4-3 perfectly, 3-2 I'm still workin on. I've got to adjust my clutch pedal, its way too high. I'm due for my 2nd oil change next week, I plan to put some 15W-50 weight oil for the track event since its going to be probably 100+ degrees out there. I have a leak on the egr valve that was welded during the swap. Right now she sounds like a Honda civic with a stock muffler & headers, ever heard that? Its the most ricey sound you'll ever hear. 2 weeks till the 240SX Convention. I'm NOT ready. I ordered some new rear tires, Dunlop FM901s, my W-10's were discontinued. My JIC seats haven't come in yet and neither has my Koyo radiator. ;(. These are things that I don't desperately need, but I really want them for the convention. You know how girls like want the best prom dress for their prom? Well I want the best parts for my car for the convention. There's going to be a Best Girl Category in the convention 240SX showoff and I want to win it. But at least I have my baby's S14 seat's in my car now, so I'm half-way decent. I hope I don't overheat at the convention track event. I got my RPS13 center tailight garnish in the mail (thank you Glenn!) and I still haven't put it on. Sounds like procrastination mania. I have a problem with my brakes, when I boost my pedal hardens and doesn't respond whatsoever...I talked to like everyone hahhaa, and I've come to the conclusion that its my check valve thing thing on my brake line coming from my brake booster (thank you borohachi Sam). The valve is on backwards I think. I have to turn it around and bleed my brakes. Plan to do that the day after tomorrow ;). I ordered a cute Bieffe helmet, and NO that is not my 1st choice, the Arai is, but I have no money right now, so I have to settle for a cheap Bieffe until later this year. I've been thinking about mufflers lately too, since I let SileightyMania wear mine, I'm crusin around stock. Its really nice, but for the convention I think I want to look a bit nicer. I found the Apex N1 Titanium muffler, but its available in Japan ONLY and I won't be able to get it in time for the convention, but that thing is NYCE. I was looking at the HKS titanium hiper, talk about pricey...it doesn't even look 1/2 as cute as the N1. I'm leaning more towards buying a Apex N1 in black. I heard the color is almost like a gunmetal. I'll get the universal turbo muffler and do my own piping. I also need a test pipe or a cat I can clean out! This diary entry is so chatterboxie, sorry! I have a lot on my mind and so many things to do. OMG wish me luck. I'll be writing you again sooner than usual.
June 23, 2002
I went to the annual 240SX BBQ yesterday. Brought the 180SXxy and met a lot of new 240SX people ;), me & my baby SileightyMania went together. Its so nice that we can do these things together and I don't have to sit like a silly bitch waiting for her boyfriend to finish his car stuff. Anyways...the BBQ was a success, around 60+ 240SXs showed up. I was the flyer girl giving out JIC catalogs and making sure everyone was signed up for the Convention...Are you??? Well, if you're reading this diary then you must be into my car, then if you're into my car, then you should go to the convention ;). Hehehe, anyways, the 180SXxy has been very fyne. I'm giving her first (technically second) oil change on Tuesday, I've got about 750 miles on her now. I've been working 3 jobs, I've been driving A LOT, thank goodness its only till July. I got a new clutch line, (thank you Benson) so now hopefully after Tuesday I don't have to fill up my clutch fluid reservoir everyday. My lil' egr valve weld is coming off, its leaking so much air...I so need a good welder. Know anyone? After my oil change I'm going to rev her up past 7 and feel the cute pssssst, am I ricey or what?! I ordered a Koyo radiator for the 180SXxy, since its all hot hhaaaa, I plan to pick it up next week, I'm so excited, I'm sure my engine will thank me ;). My baby has convinced me to get an Earl's oil cooler kit and a oil filter relocation kit...wow, luckily some lil' Hawaiian monkichi I know is going to help me out, I'm not sure if I should get the oil cooler soon or wait till after the convention. Decisions, decisions. My Cross racing seats are in, I'm just waiting for Benson to pick them up already...ahem hahahaa. My back is aching from those stupid zenki seats and on top of that, my left foot can barely reach the clutch pedal!!!! Life sucks with short legs hahaha. Anyways, thank you if you voted on my LSD poll. I'm going to throw in the viscous LSD in a month. Before then, I promised myself that I'd go to an AutoX and the skid pad, and master the art of heel-toeing. I'm learning the basics right now, I'm rev-matching 5th to 4th, 4th to 3rd, almost got down 3rd to 2nd, then I'll throw the brake in. It all takes time. Everytime I have to slow down I rev-match it, I'm getting better. Hahaha. Wish me luck! Thank you for reading my diary, I guess Benson isn't the only one reading this ;). I'll write again after my oil change!
June 13, 2002
So, I've been driving the 180SXxy around for 6 full days ;). I've gone through 1 full tank of gas which got me 260 miles, which is pretty good considering with my KA I would get no more than 225! Yes, I am a lead foot. I'm still getting used to her. I'm not going over 5,000rpm until one more oil change, which is going to be next week. We bled my clutch and put a new gasket on my cat. Yes, I need a test pipe. I think I'm the only one with an SR driving around with a stock muffler. I like it, a lot. My car feels just as fast as my baby sileightymania's car, and he has my 3" Apex N1 system on. I don't have to worry about those pesky muffler tickets anymore. Next month I'm going to get a test pipe put in. I had my egr valve on the SR welded and the weld is coming off, so right now it sounds kinda funny. After we bled the clutch it caught right in the middle, perfect ;). I have a leak, I'm not sure if its one or two, but I know my clutch line is leaking fluid, I have to add fluid every other day and my tranny might be leaking, not sure, I've gotta go down there and check it out this weekend. When I shift in to 5th gear it feels rough only the moment I switch to 5th, not sure if its the syncro or what, but its ok. Just little silly things are wrong, for the most part, the engine is wonderful, strong, steady and very quiet, except for my lil' pppssssssht. Hopefully I can get these problems fixed asap and go out to an AutoX and REALLY get to know her better. Until then I just have to use the streets and freeways to feel her out ;). I've got to get ready for the 240SX Convention, I'm racing that Sunday at Willow Springs, gotta practice that heel-toe action. Practice makes perfect and I have a long way to go. Wish me luck on my journey to perfection!
June 5, 2002
Came home from work today, I tightened the battery terminals and the 180SXxy fired up. Hahahaa. Had dinner with my Cartune Boy Eddy and the love of my lyfe Benson. I drove them, my first drive around town. :). It was nice, I wasn't used to her yet at all, but give me a month and I'll be kickin ass left and right. I stayed at Benson's house again and I plan to drive home home tomorrow.
June 4, 2002
Well, I got a new job today! Now I can spend more time down here at home with Kris, my car, and Benson Love. After my interview for my new job I bounced over to Cartune. Life sucks without a car, but being bussed around by SileightyMania is a real treat ;). That sucker had to take me to work, take me to my interview, pick up my daughter, and take me to Cartune hahhahaa. That's love. I went to check on my car. We put the Blitz FATT turbo timer in and mounted my cute Blitz boost gauge in a cute pod. Everyone is calling me ricey for having a pod, but I like it. I drove my baby around, boy what a difference some minor adjustments did. Last time I drove her (on June 2nd) she felt so fragile and unpredictable, but I was driving her around the parking lot and she warmed up to me. I didn't expect it, but today they said I could drive home! I jumped back into the 180SXxy and tried to turn around by making a 3-point turn and my clutch pedal jammed. FUCK. Master clutch cylinder? I popped my hood and there was barely any fluid in there, I sware that sucker was full on Sunday. We checked out the hard clutch lines along the firewall and they were leaking. Aaron and Benson love tightened the lines for me, they were just not tightened good enough. Then they saw coolant leaking from the heater hose going into the firewall. Drama, it was almost 12am and I had Kris, I bounced home with Benson's car and put Kris to bed. Benson did come home an hour later with my car! When he pulled into the garage the car totally turned the fuck off and didn't want to start again. All the power was cut. I didn't worry, it sounded like either a batter prob or they wired the turbo timer funny. We went to sleep and I didn't care about that problem, cuz the 180SXxy was home.
June 3, 2002
Another lonely day without the 180SXxy. I had to unfuckingfortunately work all damn day. I missed Kristy all weekend too, Benson got Kris and brought us to his place. He went to Cartune to check my car out and work on it a lil' bit. They were changing my oilpan gasket. Also, they got my BOV flange welded ;), and found some vac lines that weren't connected, and some wires that were loose. They test drove the car again today and said that it was running way better, and boosting strong, stronger than sileightymania's hahhaa. They're hopefully going to bleed the brakes and the clutch tomorrow. Then hopefully tomorrow I can go test her out again and maybe drive more than just around the parking lot. All I know is that she's very fragile right now and I just have to fine tune everything. I need some time to get to know her again as well. I have to figure out how the hell to work on an SR too! I'm going to study the vac line diagram, cuz those suckers always give problems. Wish the 180SXxy the best of health!
June 2, 2002
Wiring day! Dr. Hutchingson & Dr. SileightyMania were the attending doctors. We got a late start, around lunchtime. What a pretty beauty, the SR looked like my car came with it in there. I dug through the box of my clip stuff and found some airhorns from my clip and threw them on my car. Now people better get the hell out of my way! We changed my coolant reservoir, and finally the doctors were both there, ready to wire. While they wired, I changed my gauge cluster, yes again! I put in the one from my clip...so now I can actually keep track of the total kilometers that are on my engine. Also, I busted a scavenger hunt to find this really cute fog light switch that 180SX's come with. Also, I had blow off valve drama, I forgot that I needed to weld the flange onto the pipe for my Greddy Type-S, so I borrowed some old ass HKS one from the shop. Also, during the wiring, Jason (the sweety mechanic) finished changing my brake pedal. Hours and hours went by. I sware it was like waiting in a waiting room for someone to get out of surgery. 10 1/2 hours later at 10:30pm, the wires were connected, the pedals were in, the fluids were in, and and all the lines were secured, the moment of truth (as Reggie said) came to. "Who wants to start it?" No one raised their hand, hahahha. I made Jason start it. 5,4,3,2,1 it started on the first crank. I was so happy! IT's ALIVE! We made sure there was enough coolant, the thermostat opened and we added more and more coolant. It was time to test drive. Jason test drove it around the parking lot first. Then it was my turn...the 180SXxy sounded like a monster, OMG, it felt so foreign to me. The clutch pedal was odd and so were the brakes. The clutch caught at the top and the brakes were hard as a rock. I was not happy about that. The shitty old HKS BOV was non-adjustable, it was making my car konk the hell out. I drove around the parking lot, scared as hell. I didn't want to bone out, I just drove nice heheheheh. I got up to 30-40mph and shift to second, I felt and clutch grab, very nice ;). The motor only has 30,000 miles, so the clutch shoud be good! I didn't try to boost it, I want to drive it easy for a week. When I got back I told the boys about the pedals and we examined everything again. Some vac hoses weren't connected and some brake lines weren't on good. The oil pan started to leak too, just a little bit. The gasket got messed up during shipping my clip. We adjusted my TPS sensor, advanced my timing, tightened clamps, secured hoses and tried to drive her again, but she kept conkin out. Oh my gut...it was 12pm and I just wanted to go home and sleep. You can't expect everything to be A-OK on your 1st test drive after a swap. I was concerned, but not worried. Our diagnosis of the situation: bleed the master slave cylinder, bleed the brake system, check all vac lines and clamps, change the oil pan gasket, put my BOV on, and check it out then. I went home lonely, I really missed my car. But, I better not rush things, or they won't get done right. I just want to bring her home soon.
June 1, 2002
Yes, today was the day. I got to Cartune around 12pm. I brought the 180SXxy in, thinking I could watch the surgery...but the Cartune boys kicked me out and told me to go eat some lunch and relax and don't worry about it. I was nervous and my tummy was aching, so I just said, "I trust you boys!" After I had a 2 hour lunch, I made a run to Pep Boys and got some radiator hoses, cute oil, new fuel filter, and some hose clamps. I dropped the parts off at Cartune and there was the 180SXxy, heartless, hanging over a pool of sludge, radiator fluid, and dirty oil, wow my old engine was dirty hahhahahaa. The ol' KA was out and she was awaiting her new heart. What a sight! I saw that and thought, OMG what am I doing to my poor car! It finally hit me, this is way major. Hahhaa. I left the shop to get my mind off the whole drama, went down to Torrance and chilled down there all day. They called me around 5pm to tell me the SR was in and that it was ready to be wired. SileightyMania love took me up to touge that night to make me feel better. It worked, some ricer with a brand new bimmer smashed into the wall, what an ass. But anyways...I should be happy about my swap, but I'm kinda nervous and worried that something might go wrong. I trust my Cartune boys, so we'll check it out first thing in the morning.!
May 25, 2002
Day 51, yes, I'm writing to tell you the date has been set! Saturday, June 1st is my swap. I have encountered numerous problems, i.e., money, parts, politics, etc. A few things I'm trippin about. . .#1 My ACT clutch is out of stock, everywhere. #2 I don't have enough money to buy everything #3 I don't have a boost gauge #4 I don't have the pedals or master clutch cylinder yet #5 I don't have a shift knob...Hahahhaa I'm a drama mama. On top of that I haven't bought any hoses or belts. I'm going to work like a busy bee, make that money, and get all these problems fixed and bought by next Saturday. There is an AutoX the following weekend (June 8th), if the 180SXxy is in running order, then I'm bringin her to test out my new power & suspension. California Speedway here I come. I was just thinking...I'm NOT the only girl with an SR, but at least I'm going to use it on the track. Other girls get an SR for import showoff or just to have; I bought my SR for all those reasons AND for the purpose of racing. Drama. It makes me mad when guys tell me "you're not the only girl with an SR," but hellllooo I have a way better reason than they do to have one. ~ Anyways, now the debate is, when I should instally my LSD? I feel a new survey comin up. Benson love wants me to wait and learn how to drift really good with an open diff, THEN put the LSD in. I'm not sure, but I know its burning a hole in my mind and I want to put it on already...I mean damn if you bought it already then might as well use, right? You don't buy cute car parts for them to just sit there in the garage. We'll see, first thing is first, gotta get my swap on. Wish me luck!
May 24, 2002
OMG, day 50, still waiting, what can I say, procrastinate? Well the good news is, I finally put my Cusco Comp2s in a few days ago. I haven't ever had such nice suspension in my life! Thank you Benson. . .I'm going to say it again, you know a man loves you when he buys you nice ass stuff for your car! I've been drivin' and road ragin' around town, trying to feel out the settings on the Cuscos. I set it at 3 in the front and 2 in the rear, 2 & 1, 4 & 3, and so far, I like it at 4 & 3. I really like hard, tight suspension. I've been taking turns so hard my rear wants to come loose, never had that problem before hahhaa. I cut out some of that stupid trunk lining around the strut towers in the back so I can get to my coil-over adjustment dial, omg that was annoying. OOh, and also I got a lil' present in the mail yesterday from Japan, bam the carbon fiber center panel cover straight from Japan, thank you again Benson love. I feel so spoiled! But about the swap drama...Richard let me use his flywheel(s) so I can go get it resurfaced beforehand, I've tried to order some new pedals and a clutch! I'm having money problems, so I have to take things slow. Now, my swap is planned for mid-June. I figure, if I just do everything right, as in buying all the right stuff (hoses, belts, cute parts, etc.,) then the chances of my engine being a trouble maker will be slim ~ that's my reasoning in this drama. I know, I know, part of me just wants to go down to Cartune and have them swap it on the weekend, but things that are rushed don't ever come out right. Don't you agree? So now, hopefullllly we can get this show on the road!!!! Maybe I'm going to do one more AutoX before the swap! ;). See you next time, that is, when its swap time baby.
April 29, 2002
Wow, day 25, still waiting for my swap! I've tentatively set a date for my swap: Saturday May 18th, possibly Saturday May 25th. I'm so excited. During these past few weeks I've been researching on what I want/need for my swap. There are still a few things I haven't quite ironed out: my ACT clutch - which type to get, there's a street modified and street organic, don't ask me what the difference is cuz I still am trying to figure that out! Also, I'm trying to figure out what vac lines & hoses I should replace on the SR, change all? or change only the ones that are important i.e radiator? or change none. And there's the issue of oil: these hotshot wannabeeh Japanese mechanics have been telling me two different things, one says Mobil1 15-50W synthetic oil is best for the SR, and the other says Lumbro Moly (this German oil) 0-40W is the best. Whatever boys, I'm going to try both I guess. I have mad road rage and I drive like an ass, so I guess I would need thicker oil??? The 1st 2 oil changes are going to be within the 1st month I have my engine anyway, so I guess initially I won't have to worry about the oil so much. Maybe I should make an oil poll on my site hmmm...
I really want to get another job, this job I have isn't paying the bills, especially with my cute taste in SR parts! I need a sponsor! Its expensive swapping your motor! Even if you have the hook-ups, you still need a lot of cash. I checked on my racing seats and they're coming in June, perfect timing ;). There's an AutoX event on June 8th, I hope to be able to test the 180SXxy there with her new heart ;). My goal is to have the 180SXxy tailored sweet by the time the National 240SX convention shows up in late July. I hope I hope I hope ;).
April 4, 2002
Say Hello to SR20DETsxxy! Yes, my clip came in on Saturday!!! I rushed over there to Cartune and bought that baby. I'm so happy. I got the rear end with it too. The black top motor has a little less than 50,000 kilometers which is like 31,000 miles. It came with a Do-Luck bumper. . .ahhahah can we say rice, but other than that it was pretty much factory. I'm counting down the days till my swap. Before then, I also need to put in my Cusco Comp2s! I'm installing the lsd in a few months, that can definitely wait! Benson has pretty much arranged a shop location to do it at and I've got my 3 most trusted mechanics doing the swap~*Ken (my gunmetal zenki twin), Edwin (my cartune grease monkey friend), and of course the love of my life Benson. Those boys all know what they're doing and have done swaps before, so I'm confident that the 3 of them will get the job done right the first time. I'm tentatively setting the date within 2-3 weeks. In the meanwhile, I've got to gather up misc parts like hoses, pipes, lubricants, belts, spark plugs, air filter, boost gauge, turbo timer, front mount, and most importantly: money! I'm trying So hard to live like a poor woman...but its hard, I just want to eat OUT all the time. I keep think about how my car is going to look with the whole engine out!! Its like I'm creating a monster, but at least it will be a cute monster ;). I'm tripping out and thinking how the 180SXxy is going to feel after the swap. . .will she even feel at all familiar? I adapt well to changes, and this is definitely a change for the better. Stay tuned for the "SRsxxy Hapa Swap Coverage."
March 26, 2002
Say Hello to my new friends the Cusco Comp2s ;). Yes, I've physically touched my coilovers and they are here chilling on my bed. I plan to put them on this weekend or next. I'm so excited. I plan to go on one more bumpy ride with my crappy suspension and rip em' off and throw them onto the roof of my house or something. I don't think I'll miss my Tokicos. . . hello Cuscosxxy. I'm patiently awaiting the arrival of my SR20DET clip from Japan. Tonight I was making my shopping list, here's what I have so far: Blitz LM Intercooler Kit, Blitz BL Series 52MM Boost Gauge with cute pod, Blitz FATT Turbo Timer, and a cute Greddy oil cap. Wow, money money, Benson has got to start saving up his money for me hahahhaah, I'm saving my money too. I vow to live as cheaply as I can from now on, cuz I know my motor is coming, and I want to have some or all of these goodies waiting for her. Also this month I ordered some reclinable racing seats, by Cross (distributed by JIC), they're black and kinda look like the BRIDE Brix seats and I just picked up a used Greddy Type-S blow off valve (BOV); Benson so does not like that BOV, but I think its cute, its magenta for cryin out loud! You know you have got special love with a man when you two argue about BOV's! I'm always going to have a hint of rice in my style, and maybe he just has to deal with it. It doesn't change the way I feel about him if I get a ricey BOV does it? Anyways ;)~*When I get my SR, I plan to powder-coat my valve cover pink or magenta to match my BOV. I can't wait to get my SR and put a woman's touch to it. That's the problem with you guys, you make the SR look so dirty and mean and don't give it the love it needs, that's going to be all different with me & my SR. I'm just waiting waiting, hopefully I'll be writing you in a few weeks about my SR-sxxy.
March 7, 2002
Hey Stranger...its been a month. And yes, my baby got me my coil-overs (Thank you Benson I'll ya kno~*). They're the Cusco Comp2's, but I haven't physically touched them, don't ask, I'll have them in my car hopefully by the next AutoX in April. I've got to get my car ready for the next AutoX, my list is as follows: install coil-overs, check or possibly change steering rack, get an alignment, flush coolant, and change my spark plugs. OMG, lets just say I ran over something hard and big and I might have messed up my alignment and steering rack (don't ask). I was hoping maybe I could throw on one of Benson's 50 sets of rims on my car for the drift event at Irwindale Speedway next Saturday, but after that running over the big thing drama I think its best to wait till April. I went down to my friend's engine place, Cartune, and scoped out their SR clips. I found a clean one I want, but the mileage was kind of high, luckily they get shipments often and they'll save a clean-not-hit clip for me. I'm saving my money and now that I have a job I should be getting a clip sometime in the latter part of April. I'm so excited! I plan to get a ACT streetable clutch, a bov (still deciding, any suggestions?), and possibly a front mount to put on my engine when I swap. Might as well throw the goodies in while the engine as in pieces. I bled my brakes a few days ago...they're still OK. Maybe I should throw the Z32s that are sitting here in Sil80SXxy SPL garage. Decisions decisions. . .hopefully next time I write my car will be blessed with new suspension.
February 11, 2002
Hey its almost Valentine's Day! Happy Early Valentine's Day. Well I changed the 180SXxy oil finally yesterday. Do you ever smell your oil when you change it? I did and it smells funky. There is a ticking sound coming out of my engine when the car is cold, I asked a friend and he said it might be my bottom block, rod bearings, he says my engine might have a few more years left in her. Hahaha a perfect excuse to get my SR. So yes, I'm definitely pushing for my swap in the next few months. I'm going to miss my torquie ka, but life goes on. Change is good. I'm just waiting for a job and a clean front clip. My baby Sileighty Mania went to go check out some cute Cusco Comp2 coil-overs for me last night. Last month I was eyeing some over at SP Engineering that this cocky foo was selling, but someone beat me to it. And lone and behold the ones my baby looked at last night were the ones! Some guy bought them and then crashed his car hahahaa. I'm wondering if they're meant to be mine or what. We'll see, I might just want to buy the new model cusco coil-overs that just came out, "Comp-Zero2R" or somecute name like that or my baby might end up buying the comp2's for me ;) well see. Hahahh hinthint. Also, I want to buy a new door for my passenger side, the one I have has been re-painted and bondoed and ghetto. I found one already and its grey...will anyone buy it for me? Hahahhaa i have no job. I got laid off a week ago. Speedtrial is in March, but it's in Buttonwillow...which is like almost 2 hours away, I don't think its worth driving over there for that dinky track. I'll just be at the AutoX in March. hhehehe. Well wish me luck finding a cute front clip. Hopefully next time I have an entry I'll be writing about my new coil-overs. ;).
January 24, 2002
Greetings! Well its January and in the last 2 weeks I've gotten a new lighting setup and put my new tires on.
I installed my new H-4's with Raybrig Multi-Reflector housings. I changed the light bulbs in my blinkers w/PIAA's
to match the H-4 white headlights and I also changed my fog lightbulbs to some better PIAA H3's. Yesterday I got my
new Dunlop W-10's mounted. It expensive having 3-piece "reverse type" rims! The rim shops charge you more for mounting
tires, its supposedly harder to mount tires on a "reverse type" rim. Whatever guy...$60! I got 235/40/ZR17's and I finally
got my Kyokugen wheel lug-nuts. I'm going to mess around with my spacers and add another 3mm to each of the rears. Hopefully
I can find some coil-overs soon because my front shocks have just about had it. I visited this shop called "Cartune" and they import
front clips from Japan and I saw tons of SR20DET's for my car. Their new shipment is coming this weekend, so hopefully I can find a
clean black top sr20det front clip. I'm excited. But it'll be at least March until I can put the engine in. I'm debating whether
or not to get the Silvia Face and turn into a Sileighty. Hmm. Maybe that will be my next poll. Next weekend I'm going to the
240SX meet at Shine Street in Torrance. I'm going to be promoting for the 240SX convention that will be in July. Look for info
on that here soon. Well that's all for now. ;)
January 11, 2002>
Happy New Year! Well, its a New Year and I've got new plans for my 180SXxy. I just got some new tires today~*some new Dunlop W-10's 235/40/ZR17. I needed them bad! A year of autocrossing, speedtrialing, touge-ing, road raging took a toll on my tires. I finally installed my 180SX gauge cluster. I got jacked though...the rpm wasn't working but I switched it with my original 240sx one. I'm nervous about the gas gauge not being accurate. We'll see when I fill up tonight or when I run out of gas in the middle of nowhere! The 180SX gauge cluster is in km/h and there is no mp/h in little italics...pretty crazy driving in km/h. 65mph=105kmh! The install is gory, I had to be so patient! WHAT'S NEXT: Within a month, I plan to get Cusco Comp-2 coilovers. Forget the Teins! I've heard bad things about them. If I was a ricer who dragged, then I'd get the Teins, but I REALLY race, I need the good stuff. Also, I'm getting a huge ass refund from taxes in March/April so how great would it be to buy an SR20DET with it??? I don't need one, I kick ass right now, but I'd like one. So in the Spring, my 180SXxy will be transformed into a turbo princess. ;)
December 16, 2001
Just got back from Ken's BM Photo Shoot. There was like 5 S13's and the rest (20 or so) were Toyotas.
It started at 12 and I stayed for 3 hours. Ken got some nice pics of my car. I'm excited~finally, I'm going to be in a Japanese Magazine.
Benson just told me that I'm driving at the next Thunderhill event up north. Hahaha...I'm like okay. I can't drift well...guess
imma have to learn with my osd. Hahhaha. There is supposed to be another 240 girl there running as well...competition baby.
I'm always for some competition. I've decided that next I'm getting Tein HA coilovers in January. Also, I want a cute Sparco "Torino"
racing seats, leather please. Those are my next mods. At the end of the month I'm going to buy another set
of Dunlop W-10's for my car...I killed the ones on my car right now. They're crying, but they still grip cute. Well...have a very merry
Christmas and a Happy New Year! ;)
November 26, 2001
I'm back from Speedtrials & Kristy's Busy Birthday!! Kristy just turned 5! My baby is a kid now. OMG. I fixed my
injector, didn't change my tires but put new spark plug wires in...what a trade-off. It decided to rain at Speedtrials.
I went out on the track and on my second lap it started pouring! I stayed out there for practically 20 minutes. I was scared shitless! My mom told me NOT to race in the rain. I got to drive my car in a whole different scenario and it was good that I did. I kept it under control the entire time. I didn't spin out. Left & right I'd see these crazy men spinning out all over the place, up in the mud, rocks, water, cement...everywhere. Talk about psycho. I got squirrellllly and started powersliding, but I didn't loose it. I felt the car starting to loose grip tons of times, I was experimenting with ways to keep the car from spinning the fuck out hahaha. It was a good experience, but very dangerous. The drive home from Willow Springs was horrible...it was raining like cats & dogs the entire way home. I don't think I've ever endured such stressful driving on the freeway! I sware my car was going to hydroplane off the road into a ditch, but thankfully it didn't. Hahaha. I wished we had more track time and it was a little bit longer and less wetter. I can't wait for next time. I hope someone took pics of me, but how many people take pics in the pouring rain!?
November 22, 2001
Well...the Sidesteps are on and the racing harnesses are attached ;). One of my injectors are leaking,
but I'm fixin' it tomorrow. No worries...just going to change my tires in the front and off I go
to Speedtrials! I'll see you guys there! Hopefully it won't be raining when me & Benson go.
We'll be there Saturday 11/25. ;).
November 13, 2001
Wow, its been raining!! Well, its about a week or two before Speedtrials, and I'm moving into my new house, and Kristy's bday party is coming!!
OMG time is flying and I only have two hands. I'm not sure if I'm going to Speedtrials anymore. I haven't found
any 16"'s to go in. I don't feel like running with the only rims I have. Kristy's bday is the Sunday after Speedtrials
and I'm moving into my new house around that day too. Decisions, decisions. I'm going to let Benson love put
my Apex N1 on. I'm just going to put my side steps and 180SX gauge cluster in this week and chill for a while. My
baby got me 2 extra Dunlop W-10's for my rims since the rainy season is comin'. I'm going to put those on asap.
I be slippin & slidin'. Hopefully I'll make it to Speedtrials, at least with Benson. See you guys there! ;)
October 31, 2001
Happy Halloween! It was my birthday on Sunday and my baby Sileighty Mania got me side-steps from Japan!!
A shipment came in from Japan to one of our Hapa180SXxy/Sil80SXxy SPL shops and BAM...gunmetal side-steps just for me.
The pics are going to be up in a week! You know a guy loves you when he buys you parts for your car. ;) I'm still
looking for cute coil overs for my car. Probably Tein HA's. I'm putting the Apex N1 on Tuesday, thank god. I'm moving this
weekend too...finally I have a garage just for my 180SXxy. Thank you baby...you know a guy loves you when
he helps you move AND he buys you your 1st tool set. Alta might have some SSR reverse mesh for me!!! 16x7 with a +20 offset--what I exactly need for Speedtrials. Now the lil' power steering & a/c belts are crackin and the tires are wearin', just what I need~drama. I want rear underspoilers and a front lip! Probably kouki rear underspoilers...and if you copy me I'll find you and kill you. But I think unless you're hapa, female & sweet like me you don't stand a chance at finding them. Hahahaa jp. But really...I can't stand people who can't create their own style. I have my own style and it's not Rice or
JDM; its somethin' better, somethin with class & and means to kick ass on the road, in the show and on the track.
Yah baby, originality, you like that don't you. See you on the track.
October 8, 2001
Just got back from a day at AutoX (10/6). Please see the new pics on my AutoX Page. I had so much fun! Finally, I got to try out my new rim setup and kick some ass
on the track baby. This was my 3rd time at AutoX. I got a lot of compliments as to the way I drive the track with
my fat ass street tires..."I'm smooth" hahahhaa. I realized race tires, racing harnesses, and a racing seat would really
help me & keep my booty from sliding out of my ghetto 1989 240 seat. My baby Sileighty Mania got a 71.150,
KyleSmyle got at 73, TakJack on his first trip to AutoX got a 79, Chano got a 74.5 and I got a 74.1 ;). I had a lot more
control of my car on the track this time. I got my 4th rim back from the shop just in time for this. Next is Speedtrial USA (road racing event) on
November 24th. Before then, I plan to install my new cute Tein upper pillo mounts for the front and put my Apex
N1 back on. I'm so excited! I really hope I can find some 16" rims to run with, but if I don't I'll manage.
I'm not looking for a quiter muffler anymore~if I'm going to get pulled over for a muffler I'm going to get pulled
over for a muffler...regardless of how loud it may be. Yah baby~my BIRTHDAY is the 28th!!! I'm so excited.
PartyHardy at my new house. I want Tein HA coil-overs, reclining racing seat, and silver 16x8" SSR Formula Mesh with +20 offset & 225/50/16 Dunlop W-10's on em k guys?
